The owners of this existing condominium expressed a strong desire for a contemporary living space that could accommodate larger social gatherings and serve as a gallery for the owners’ collection of art and artifacts. The existing space, limited in ceiling height and day-lighting presented a multi-faceted design challenge.
With the extraordinary views of Lake Calhoun and downtown Minneapolis as inspiration, the U+B team proposed a spatial reconfiguration of the master suite, opening the entire condominium up and allowing light to flood into the space. The revised layout presents a serene and free-flowing space, conducive to entertainment and a contemporary lifestyle of the owner. A well-curated palette of materials, including etched, back-painted glass and quartz countertops serves to carry light deeper into the space.
