Soltva, a new rental apartment building in the Warehouse District of Minneapolis is the creation of Curt Gunsbury, a local environmentalist and developer. Curt hired U+B to work with him on building massing and site analysis, through which the important pedestrian passage to nearby Washington Avenue was determined as a pivotal force in the shaping of the building form. The end result is a elegant building form that responds the movement of people along the exterior and an interior that supports this. The lobby space features a textured flame colored wall that stretches from the main entry through to the private outdoor space beyond. Our work with the interior designers helped create a cohesiveness between the architecture and the furnishings.
