The existing kitchen of this beautiful older St. Paul home was mired in an inefficient layout replete with a poor entry sequence and limited views to and exceptional backyard patio and garden. The U+B team design eliminated an old, disused basement stair to accommodate a new entry and mudroom space. This reconfiguration allowed for a more efficient kitchen layout that includes generous granite counters and a peninsula for both eating and gathering during meal preparations. Above the kitchen sink, a new bay of windows was added, allowing daylight to flood the room and affording an open view to the back garden.
