Saddled with an antiquated kitchen and flawed layout, the owners of this Prospect Park home challenged U+B to create a fresh, open kitchen reflecting their contemporary sensibilities and lifestyle. The choice to close off an underused opening to the existing staircase created the opportunity to seize extensive functional workspace that looks into the dining room by way of an enlarged cased opening between the adjacent spaces. The addition of a large, east-facing window over the sink allows daylight to flood into the space, bouncing off of the elegant glass tile walls, quartz counters and rich wood cabinetry.
