Built in 1893, the residence is one of the original homes in Lynhurst community and was once owned by the prominent Armatage family of Minneapolis. U+B was retained to renovate multiple spaces on the second level and to develop a more efficient layout and storage for the master suite. By creating curtain niches adjacent to the existing balcony, the U+B team was able to add much needed built-in clothing storage and bookshelves while delicately preserving the symmetry of the historical façade. Inefficiencies created by the original layout were resolved through the use of built-in pockets doors, revealing a refreshed bathroom complete with a custom vanity cabinet and walls adorned with an beautiful selection of jewel-case tilework.
