Cookie Cart – Minneapolis & St. Paul

Cookie Cart is a nurturing community of support for young people to thrive, blossom and become the best they can through a youth employment and engagement program.
U+B was hired by Cookie Cart to investigate creative solutions that would allow greater efficiencies and an increased production capacity at their original bakery operation in North Minneapolis. Coupled with this, our team sought to afford a greater sense of identity and exposure; visually bringing the heart of this exceptional organization to the public.

The first-floor renovation brings the street-scape to life by pulling the bakery to the front of the building, and allowing the student employees to take center stage in the new kitchen. A revamped brand identity, illustrated through vivid graphics, brings a fresh look to the adjacent café space and draws clientele in from the street.

Due to the successful collaboration on their flagship North Minneapolis location, hired U+B to design a second bakery. This new location will extend the organization to the east side of St. Paul. The new café will build upon U+B’s work on the North Minneapolis location retaining the revamped brand identity and vivid graphics. Also similar to North Minneapolis, the concept of bringing the heart of the organization to the public will be the focus – the bakery and its students are front and center while also enlivening the streetscape. Cookie Carts’ expanded presence will extend opportunities for teens to learn new skills to St. Paul.
