The design is a balance of styles. A balance of modern and traditional spaces, exterior elements, materials, colors, site placement, orientation, verticality, visual curating, and budget. It is a modern take on a vernacular gable style house. It’s location on the site, both horizontally and vertically, was pivotal to the design’s ability to preserve the existing trees, views to and from the neighboring pond, and the site accessibility.
The spaces are choreographed to display the owner’s collection of artifacts in combination with their love for hosting, whereas maintaining an inherent visual connection to the surrounding neighborhood through a conceptual dovetailing.
